The curriculum includes formal lessons and a wide range of extra-curricular activities both within the school day and in the evenings and weekend.

Intent

The Bronte Girls' Academy intent is to offer all our students an ambitious curriculum, which:

  • Is underpinned by our core values of Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Inclusiveness and Growth.
  • Promotes a love of learning and independence.
  • Enables students to achieve outstanding outcomes equipping them with the knowledge and skill they need to succeed in life.
  • Is broad, balanced and relevant whilst providing a stronger grounding in Literacy and Numeracy as well as Science, Technology and Maths.

In the organisation and planning of the curriculum, we aim to meet the needs of all our students so they achieve the best they can. To maximise achievement, we will:

  • Ensure high quality teaching and learning.
  • Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, to identify strengths and weaknesses, and improve performance to meet individual targets.
  • Support students through mentoring, additional study, and homework.
  • Provide opportunities for students to take part in a range of social enterprise, community service and extra-curricular activities.
